With Halloween just a day away, it had to be pumpkins for this week’s Nature in the Home! Although we have chosen ours from the farm shop, we have yet to hollow out and carve them. Carving them the night before Halloween, as a family, is becoming a bit of an annual ritual.
Instead, my offering is a trio of pretty squash (bought from a recent visit to a walled garden) and a little bit of nature-themed craft in the form of needlefelted pumpkins. A lovely friend of mine made the smaller two for my eldest boys, and offered to teach me how to needlefelt so that I could make the third one for myself. They are made from wool fleece, so although they aren’t real pumpkins, they are still pretty natural (and oh so very satisfying to create!)
