I once visited the famous white garden at Sissinghurst Castle It was planted by Vita Sackville-West with a variety of flowers and foliage using a colour scheme of white, grey and silver. In this garden the shape, size and structure of the plants becomes the focus, rather than their colour. When Lou chose white as this week’s theme for Nature in the Home I was reminded of Sissinghurst. Although my own garden is anything but monochromatic, I managed to find a small selection of white flowers and decided to photograph them in the style of Caroline’s beautiful mood boards. There is something so very lovely about the simplicity of these pale blooms.
they are so gorgeous! Now going to check out your links as well xxxxx
I couldn’t agree more – they are divine in their simplicity.
I love how you’ve photographed them too – pretty pretty pretty 🙂
Oh Laura it is stunning against the green! Love!! I’ve always wanted to visit Sissinghurst… it seems so far away from here. One day xxx
Beautiful images – I went to Sissinghurst after a friends wedding a few years ago and it just happened to be the perfect time to visit the white garden – mid June I think and it was amazing. Are those pea flowers!? I’m thinking we might just get the first pods of peas here in the next few days… can’t wait.
I wish I could visit that garden, and your flowers are beautiful, too. I like the way you have displayed them.
Just adorable so simple and beautiful x
These look ready to be pressed for an old fashioned specimen journal. Beautiful pictures, katie x
