“I’m so glad that I live in a world where there are Octobers.”
Having recently re-discovered this quotation from L.M. Montgomery’s wonderful Anne of Green Gables, I wholeheartedly agree. October has been the month in which we have really settled in to Autumn and all its charms. There have been pumpkins and conkers, apple cakes and ginger cakes, blackberry cakes and herb-infused bakes. We have been blessed with plenty of crisp, clear-skied, bright days. The trees are on the turn and leaves have been picked, kicked and taken home to admire.. This is one of my favourite times in the year, when Halloween and Bonfire Night almost meet and the basket of hand-knit woolies has come down from the loft to be re-instated in our hallway. It has done me so much good to be out in the loam-scented woods and up on the wind-whipped hills.
November, I’m ready for you.
Oh I love October so much too … and your post is really wonderful … perfect words for autumn … Bee xx
beautiful pictures – I feel an urge to find some wind whipped hills to climb!
