April has been a very lovely month: spring flowers and new leaves, blue skies and warm air.
The woods have been at their loveliest, carpeted with wild garlic, wood anenomes and bluebells. In the gardens, magnolias and blossom trees enjoy their brief moment of glory.
We explored Kew Gardens, romped on blustery Southerndown beach, were awed by the magic of an Iron Age fort deep in the woods, and rode bikes across the sunlit common.
In the kitchen this month, there has been banana bread and banana buttermilk pancakes. Wild garlic foccacia. Lemon Primrose Loaf and after-school cookies.
April, you’ve been a month of little joys.
As ever, I’ve been looking back- to last April’s patchwork – and to the month ahead, with a Pinterest board for May.
