When I was pregnant earlier this year, I spent my evenings knitting a shale baby blanket for the baby. Just like the blankets that I had made for the elder boys, this blanket had love knitted into every stitch and, once again, the baby did not make an appearance until I had at last cast off the final row!

As the evenings grow colder, and darker I have been once again reaching for my knitting needles. I’ve started with a cabled hat for the baby, using the leftover wool from the blanket. I also have an ever-growing list of projects that I am planning to make next: at this time of year, there are so many lovely knitted accessories to lust after. I’ve been collecting a few of my favourites over on Pinterest.

In the meantime, I need to finish this hat before the baby’s head grows any bigger! I’m planning a big fluffy pom pom for the top of it…

{The pattern I’m using is this one, and if you are on Ravelry, you can find me here, and more details about the blanket here..}
