about

Hello, I’m Laura.

Let me make you a cup of tea, and share with you some stories. Circle of Pine Trees is a record of time passing and of the seasons changing. It’s a blog for those who take pleasure in a posy of flowers picked from the garden or the way in which sunlight falls across the pillow. If you notice the beauty in life’s little moments, this is a place for you. Welcome, lovely reader.

I have always been fascinated by words, and by pictures. A lifelong bookworm and lover of stories, I graduated with an MA in English Literature. My obsession with photography began on my 15th birthday, when my father gave me an Olympus Trip camera and and a home darkroom. I’ve been taking pictures ever since.

I am a freelance writer, editor, and lifestyle photographer, not to mention the mother of three small boys. In my rare free moments, you will probably find me with my head in a book. I have a penchant for vintage cameras and love experimenting with analogue film.

I am the deputy editor of 91 Magazine, and have contributed photographs and words to many other websites and publications. If you’re curious to find out a little bit more about me, including my favourite flower and the secrets of my morning routine (it’s chaos!), there’s an interview with me over on the 91 Magazine blog. For more information about my work, take a look at my press page and my portfolio. You can contact me about my freelance writing, editing or lifestyle photography by emailing laura@circleofpinetrees.com.
